How It Works
- Enter your room dimensions – length, width, and wall height.
- Add the number of doors and windows to subtract their area from the total.
- Choose your paint type and coverage rate (typically 10–12 m²/litre).
- Select the number of coats – one or two.
- Get the exact paint quantity in litres and the recommended number of tins to buy.

Input: Room 4m x 5m, wall height 2.7m, 1 door, 2 windows, 2 coats
Result: Approximately 8.5 litres of paint (2 tins of 5 litres)
FAQ
The calculator finds the total wall area, subtracts the area of doors and windows, divides by the paint coverage rate, and multiplies by the number of coats to give you the total litres needed.
Absolutely. All calculations happen entirely client-side in your browser. No data is ever sent to any server.
Two coats are recommended for new walls or when changing colour. One coat is usually enough when refreshing the same colour.
Yes, we recommend adding about 10% to the calculated amount to account for spills, touch-ups, and uneven surfaces.
